Eastern Creek Super Sprint
Had a eventful weekend away at Eastern Creek the weekend past. Started off with a 4 hour drive turning into a 6 and a half hour drive due to a crash on Pennant Hills Rd and then a crash on the M2.
With the forcast for heavy rain on the Saturday, woke to find blue skys outside the window of the motel.
First run out on the track had light rain on turns 5,6,7,8 and 9 set a time of 2.02.373 not to bad only 2 seconds of my PB. After dads first run i headed to the pre grid and could hear that something was wrong with the exhaust rushing back to my garage to see what the problem was. The new section of exhaust was hanging by only one bolt, quick rat through the tool box for some bolts and nuts to fit and headed out onto track.I had lost my positon in the group and got held up only managing a 2.04
As dad headed out for his second run i noticed oil on the garage floor. Called him back in and found that the oil pressure sending unit had snapped and the thread was stuck in the block. After asking everyone for some easy outswith no luck, i headed over to the drag strip and was able to get a set form the Fucsh Oil drag team who were only to happy to help. There was enough thread to be able to put the oil pressure sending unit back in the block and cross fingers for no leak, sucsess. I headed out for the last session setting a time of 2.01.224 finsihing 3rd in class out of 9 and 35th overall out of 82.
Overall it was a good weekend got very lucky with the weather and was able to fix the problems that i had with the car only getting to do 3 out of 5sessions was a little disapointing but still had fun.
Have some more photos coming from the WTAC and from the weekend so check back.
